Bobby's Burger Palace
I've had it on my bucket list to eat at a Food Network Star's restaurant for a while. When we went to Vegas a year and a half ago I hoped we'd be able to cross that off, but given that we were already doing Disneyland that trip, we couldn't justify spending that much for a lunch. Fast forward a couple months from that and we were living in Boston. I hoped we could cross it off soon since we were close to NY where a lot of the restaurants are. But life happens so it took almost 18 months before we finally got a chance to cross it off!
Bobby Flay has a burger restaurant called Bobby's Burger Palace and lucky for me, there's one in Connecticut just about 2 hours away from us! And fortunately I'm married to someone willing to drive 2 hours one way just to have a burger! We finally got the chance to go on January 27th. We got up, went to the Boston Temple (isn't it beautiful?!), came home and changed, and started the drive.
Greg had more homework to do than I did so I drove on the way there. Jammed to my music, totally blew past the security guard at the casino (the restaurant was in a casino) on accident because he was way slow getting up so I thought I was fine to go, found my way to the right way, and we were there! We decided to split the burger of the month The Canadian. It was the patty, Canadian bacon, white cheddar and maple mustard sauce. We got fries and sweet potato fries and milkshakes. When we sat down and saw the ginormous onion rings there, we decided we had to order those too. Everything was delicious and we both agreed it was well worth the drive!
We drove home, did some homework, I took a late nap and then we met some friends for dinner at a pub. We were still super full from lunch so we shared a meal that was still too much food. Fortunately we had good company and then enjoyed the lovely 2 mile walk back to our apartment. I love New England because of days like that day!
